With more than a decade of experience I define entrepreneurship as the “ultimate responsibility” I define ultimate responsibility as “the state of being totally accountable to one’s life.” All happenings, actions and results in that state are seen to be earned by oneself 100%. Sounds exaggerated? How can one be accountable for being in an accident caused by a drunken driver running your car? Accountability is not thinking you earn everything but standing in a place of total responsibility in whatever gets caused. It is the willingness to be a cause in the matter.

This state makes us do everything that we can to deal with the situation. Shifting the blame to someone or something only takes our power away to cause shift.

One of our investors was not helping us in anyway, and in fact was an impediment in moving forward. The exit price was impossible for us to afford. One day getting out of bed in the morning I went into a state of “total responsibility” to come a shift in a matter that was unresolved for 34 years. I met the investor and was able to get them to agree to transfer all their shares to the company at a throw away price of one US dollar.I know it was my state of being that caused the impossible to happen

If you are far from the state of being responsible to yourself, my advice is not to take the road of entrepreneurship. The state of being responsible to oneself can be measured through the key area of your physical fitness, a stable mental state and key relationships in life. Lack of fitness in any of these will be like a heavy stone tried to your feet.

I had major issue with one key relationship. It retarded my progress by at least 3 to 4 years. Having a supportive family relationship is important for acceleration. A good physical state enables you to endure long work hours and frequent travels.
